Vinitaly, Maddalena Nardin receives the "Angelo Betti" award: "She represents the Trentino"

VERONA. Maddalena Nardin, director of the Villa Corniole di Giovo winery, is the winner of the "Benemeriti della vitivinicoltura italiana" award for Trentino.

In the reasons for the Award assigned to Nardin it is highlighted that "the love for cultivation in the fields combined with the commitment and professionalism in the cellar which characterize and distinguish in particular the qualities of the female gender have made the level of production grow rapidly and enriched the cellar proposal. The three daughters Sara, Linda, and Sabina, intercepting the new market trends, have already introduced an important Trento doc since 2009. The mountain bubble that perhaps best of all manages to combine the aromas, flavors, and the traditions of this land and make them known to the world".

The prestigious award - assigned on a regional basis to those who have contributed to and supported the qualitative progress of Italian enology - is named after the founder of Vinitaly, Angelo Betti. The presentation of the award took place within the framework of the event at the International Exhibition of Wines and Spirits.

Councilor Giulia Zanotelli motivated the award given to Nardin, who left her public job to accompany her husband Onorio, a lifelong winemaker, in his dream of building his own cellar in Val di Cembra, where he makes wine and enhances his own grapes.

“The project of a family of small mountain producers - comments Zanotelli - best represents the Trentino of heroic, different winemakers. Different because it doesn't scare them to cultivate impervious alpine areas, difficult to manage, heroic but capable of producing surprising wines".
